Photo Contest

Four Categories of Entries:

  1. Military
  2. Civilian
  3. Historic
  4. The Air Show Experience

Entries: Maximum of two (2) entries per person per category. E-mail digital entries to photo@indyairshow.com. Mail entries on CD/DVD to the Indy Air Show Office.

  • Be sure to include your name, address, city, state, zip, valid e-mail, phone, category, and caption.
  • All submissions must be in digital format. No hard copy or printed entries will be accepted.
  • Electronic submissions must be in JPEG or TIFF format. Images measuring at least 1,000 pixels on the long dimension are preferred. Digital media will be accepted by e-mail or on CD-R/W or DVD+/-RW media.

Deadline: All entries must be received by September 14, 2008.

Judging: Entries will be judged by the Indianapolis Air Show Photography Staff. Winners will be announced by October 5, 2008.

Awards: First, Second, Third, and Honorable Mention in each category. Prize for first place winner in each category – to be announced. Winning photos will be displayed on the Indianapolis Air Show website and published in the 2009 Indianapolis Air Show program.


A-1 Awards is the Official Awards Provider for the 2008 Photo contest.

Entry Rules:

  • Submitted images must have been taken during the 2008 Indianapolis Air Show, and by the person making the submission.
  • The Indianapolis Air Show will have the right to publish all images in print, video, and/or digital format at no cost.
  • The photographer retains all rights for further use of the images.
  • Members of the Indianapolis Air Show Photography Staff are not eligible.
  • Submitted materials will not be returned.
  • Be sure to include your name, address, city, state, zip, valid e-mail, phone, division, category, and caption.
  • The Indianapolis Air Show is not responsible for the loss or damage of any entry.
  • The decisions of the judges are final.
  • Photos thought to be outside of the above criteria may be removed from consideration without the entrant being notified.
  • No Photoshopping or other digital manipulation. This contest is about photography, not about one’s expertise with a graphical application. This does not apply to photographic techniques contained within a camera’s abilities (i.e. a manual shutter release used to capture moving aircraft), nor does it apply to cropping an image.
